This post is long overdue.
I know.
I should have gotten around to joyous frothing at the mouth a week ago, the very minute I set my eyes on beautiful MacLovin, but I didn’t.
Being me, I didn’t really have time for a honeymoon with my new baby. Right after getting the Macbook out of the box and inhaling its fresh and “brand new” scent several times, I worked on transferring my old files from Keets.
Then I dove right into work. It was pretty difficult, really, having to work immediately when all I really wanted was to tinker with MacLovin. I did get some time to goof around, poking everywhere and everything in sight.
It was sort of fun getting to learn the shortcuts, though I had quite some difficulty getting the hang of the “command” button. Now though, I keep pressing ALT+S at the office when I want to save something, rather than CTRL+S.
Anyway, my jaw dropped (and stayed gaping for a few minutes) after I saw how Expose and Spaces worked. Now that’s what I’m talking about. That’s what you switch to Mac for.
I did find the Applications confusing initially, because I kept thinking I had to install stuff and wait for everything to load like in Windows. The ease is simultaneously liberating and paranoia-attack-inducing. I keep thinking there’s something wrong because things can’t be this simple. It’s just wrong. And weird.
But it’s fun learning new things about MacLovin every day. I don’t exactly have words sufficient to describe what I feel about my MacLovin. It’s just … surreal.
Sometimes I wake up and pinch myself because I still can’t believe that this Macbook is mine.
PS: One thing, though: the whiteness is driving me crazy. Every speck, every smudge, every fingerprint drives me crazy. I wipe the Macbook twice every two minutes in an effort to keep it clean. I even bought the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for this. The wrist area, in particular drives me crazy. The keyboard … don’t even ask. *gritted teeth* Tell me how to keep MacLovin fresh and clean.
